This character is the aged Reverend Mother of one of the Fremen sietches where Paul and Jessica take refuge; Herbert mentions her only briefly. This is one of my favorite Dune pieces, for the simplicity and dispatch with which it was done, as well as for her withered yet intense expressivity.
